How Can I Persuade a Candidate to Accept a Job Offer with Our Commission Plan?

I am currently working as an HR Executive with an IT firm in Dubai, with one year of experience. Recently, I sent a job offer for the Sales Engineer position. However, the candidate is not ready to accept the offer as his expectations are higher than what we offered. I want to send a convincing letter to encourage him to sign the offer without increasing his salary but highlighting the potential for good commissions (which we did not inform him of earlier).

Our commission scheme is as follows:

- Achieving 60% to 80% - $500
- Achieving 80% to 100% - $750
- Achieving over 100% - $1500

Can anyone help me prepare this letter?

I would suggest you talk to the candidate rather than writing a letter to convince him to accept the offer. Talk to him and explain the attractive commissions that are on the offer. Be straightforward while explaining it to him so that he does not misunderstand and start complaining once he joins your company. Make it clear to him that the commission is directly linked to his performance and provide clarity about the payouts. If the opportunity excites him, I believe he will join; otherwise, he may not be interested in the role and could just be trying to join for the salary.

I agree with Vadiraj. Instead of writing a letter, you should talk to him directly. Through this, you can easily try to convince him and will be able to know about his thoughts, thinking, and interest towards the job offer.
