Hi Friends, can anybody tell me briefly about salary structure design, including Basic, HRA, DA, ESI, and PF, and what other essentials of a salary structure are there?

Earnings:
BASIC, HRA, WA, CEA, MEDICAL ALLOWANCE, LC, OTHERS

Deductions:
LOAN, ESIC, PF, PTAX, CELL (IF APPLICABLE), TDS (IF APPLICABLE), OTHERS.

Earnings = Gross Salary

Earnings - Deductions = Net Salary.

Common Salary Allowances

- **WA:** Washing Allowance
- **CEA:** Children's Education Allowance
- **LC:** Local Conveyance

If someone is unmarried, can the company provide a Child Education Allowance (CEA)? Please brief me about the Washing Allowance as I'm not aware of that.

In case the concerned person is unmarried, it can be shown in "OTHERS." Washing Allowance (WA) is also based on the company policies.

Adding to Ranjhit's reply, HRA is 60% of the basic salary for metros and 40% of the basic salary for non-metros.
