How to Create an Employee Welfare Forum: Seeking Advice and Experiences from Peers

Hi,

Our company has decided to start a welfare forum in which employees can share their grievances. I have been asked to prepare a proposal for this. If anyone has previous experience with this, please forward me the details, or provide some input so that we can make modifications.

Benny, initially, you would be getting superficial/cosmetic feedback; handle it for the first few months. Everybody would be gauging the seriousness of management over this issue. Remember one thing:

a) Acknowledge each and every suggestion that you receive.
b) Think of ways to say YES (normally, management wants to maintain the status quo and procrastinates over trivial matters, e.g., plumbing/electrical installations, etc.).
c) If possible, initiate an award for good performance amongst various domains. The award can be given quarterly, one for each process/work area.
