In our organization(Chemical Construction Industry), we have been facing some serious issues regarding the working hours.
We work 9.30-6.00, 6 days a week and most of the people stay back late and come late in the morning.
The grace period given is still 9.45 and anybody coming after that is marked late, and more than 3 late markings we deduct one days salary.
After having a discussion with the employees, the concern was not paying overtime and also not relaxing when they come late.
The current scenario in the organizations is a lil tight coz the manpower is less compared to work and so lot of people are in the process of being recruited.
Now I have a concern how can we evaluate the people who work late. how would we know that they are genuinely staying back late for their work.
I believe that when one is efficient the work can get over in the working hours thats alloted and also where we don't have Saturdays off.
Considering the situation now when the manpower is not sufficient how should we take care of the employees.
Kindly suggest as this is crucial stage.
