Starting a Consultancy: How Do I Properly Invoice a New Candidate?

rashmisastry
Hi all,

I have just started up a consultancy firm, and one of my candidates is joining the firm. However, I need to raise the invoice against him. Could somebody please help me with the invoice format? Also, do I need to add service tax along with it?

I am waiting for a prompt reply.

Hi,

Don't give any invoices with service tax. First, you need to register the firm if you are issuing invoices. It's better to speak to a Chartered Accountant who can guide you. Until that time, you can give a receipt for the money towards advance received.

Hi, you need to have a service tax number if you want to charge service tax on the invoice, which is currently 12.36%. If you do not have a service tax number, you can issue an invoice without service tax. Simply mention the client's name and the principal amount. That's it.

Best of luck.

Dear,

Where can we obtain this service tax number? Could you please attach an invoice format from any manpower consultant for reference?

Hi Rashmi,

I have attached the Invoice format. It is fully automated. You just have to fill the data in the first sheet, and the invoice will be generated on the next sheet. You can take a printout of it. For future reference, convert that Excel file into a PDF.

If you have any doubts, feel free to contact me.

Praven

I have two questions regarding raising an invoice:

Invoice for Permanent Staffing Closure

1) When do we have to raise an invoice to the client for the closure of permanent staffing?

Invoice for Candidates on Payroll

2) When do we have to raise an invoice to the client for a candidate who has joined our payrolls and is working at the client's location?

Please suggest answers to my queries.

Many Thanks.
