How To Moderate The Attendance Of Employees At Client Site - Please Help

My employees sit on the client side for projects. Today, the head of the department has lodged a complaint against my employee that he arrives late to the office. As per my report, he arrives on time. They don't have a punching system; instead, they have a register. If my employee arrives late, he marks the register indicating that he arrived on time. Now, I want to keep track of all my employees' time in and time out. How can I keep track? I can't visit the client side daily or send someone else. Please guide me.

Can your employees access email from the client site? If they can, ask them to report to work using the official email once they sign in at the client's site. If that option is not available, request your client to allow you to keep a register at their security gate. Ask the employees to sign when reporting to work. Take weekly attendance updates using that register.

Thank you so much! Even I have decided the same, but on the client side, they use a common email id. It is difficult to get individual records. Are there any other options available?

Can you initiate a register to be signed at the entrance at your client's site? Generally, such facilities are available at the security counter near the entrance. You can monitor the register weekly or bi-weekly.

Other than this, do plan sudden visits. The rampant checks at the site would keep the employees disciplined.

Finally, stay empathetic towards them. Observe what difficulties they are facing and why they are not taking complete ownership of their jobs. There might be unresolved issues with them. Seek solutions and implement as far as you can. They would feel valued and respected, hence have more responsibilities to respond in a similar manner.

Please keep the attendance register at the client's office. The employee in question must sign the register and send a photo of it via WhatsApp on a daily basis. This will allow you to track their timing.
