What Activities Truly Define Organizational Development? Seeking Your Insights!

Hi Friends! I need a list of activities that fall under OD. I don't know exactly which activities come under the purview of OD. What I know is that any activity carried out for the interest of all comes under the OD activity. For example, circulars on the notice board, safety guidelines, cultural change quotes like "there is no 'I' in team," etc.

Please help to clarify my doubts and suggest a list of activities that lead to OD.

OD in itself is a complete subject, and the activities involved encompass many aspects that cannot be listed unless you have a proper understanding of the subject. The things you are asking for are just the methods of introducing change in the organization. OD comprises much more, such as change management, succession planning, training and development, career planning, and many other activities.

Could you please provide more details about what exactly you are looking for? Are you planning to implement OD in your company? What are the problem areas you want to address?

Hi Archana, can you please shed some light on career planning? We are operating in the international call center industry and facing high attrition rates. I believe implementing effective career planning strategies may help in reducing attrition.

This is in furtherance of the suggested activities for OD. Primarily, I am a new HR in this company. I want to change the culture of its people. The top management focuses on and preaches the practice of customer intimacy, but, sadly, they are not even practicing it as leaders. I am planning to conduct a whole course training for management, leadership principles, core competencies, and soft skills.

OD-Related Activities for Monthly Recognition

Can you suggest OD-related activities that I can integrate into our monthly recognition activity (because it becomes routine) where the purpose or objective is lost, and more OD activities that I can integrate into these trainings?
