Rarely are the levels measured and monitored. Hundreds of workers are affected unknowingly when they enter contaminated workplaces. More than employees, it is the duty of the management to measure the work environment, take steps to control and reduce hazards, and honestly publish the data for employees to know and take necessary steps for their defense.
When more and more workplaces tend to get the work done through contract workers—to generate huge profits and avoid labor problems—who are illiterate, unorganized, and unaware, it is important that management self-regulate.
