I guess you are in a dilemma as to why you chose HR. The same is with me. I chose HR because other specializations like finance and marketing are strenuous jobs, so I took HR. It is considered that marketing jobs are field jobs, and I have no interest in finance.

The Importance of HR in a Company

HR is the main resource of any company. Everyone loves you, and you have to take care of your employees in the best possible way. This is the track where you have value and respect apart from money.

I chose HR because, by being in HR, I get to meet people from different backgrounds and job profiles such as manufacturing, marketing, sales, SCM, IT, etc. I have learned something from all of them. Unless you are an extrovert and outgoing, it's difficult to enjoy the HR profession.

I chose HR because, in today's scenario, where every organization has almost the same kind of capital and machinery resources, it is the human resource that makes an organization different. This aspect attracted me to HR.

As a professional in HR, you have more liberty to implement changes in the organization that you desire. Whether it involves policy-making, appraisals, recruitment, or employee engagement, these aspects provide satisfaction and keep you in high spirits.

As Mr. H. T. Parekh, Founder-Chairman of HDFC Ltd, said, "HDFC's finest investment is in its Human Resources. It draws its personnel from many disciplines. They are the building blocks on which the company's performance and productivity are based."

It's not only with HDFC, it's with all.

A captain is only as good as his team, so having the right talent is a must to build a successful organization. I chose HR because I believe I am well-suited for this job.

I chose my career in HR because I like to read human minds through observation. I am empathetic by nature, so I can understand human problems such as why they are not satisfied with their job, what issues they may be facing that are affecting their performance in the organization, etc. If I find that an employee is facing a problem, I would discuss it with him/her and provide remedies.
