Is PF Deduction Required for a New Job with a Salary Over Rs. 6500 After Resigning?

I want to know if an employee whose PF is deducted from their first job resigns from there and joins a new firm with a salary of more than Rs. 6500, is PF applicable to them or not?

Understanding PF Applicability

The concept of PF is not dependent on the salary structure; it is dependent on the number of employees in the company. If there are more than 15 employees in the company, then PF is deducted compulsorily.

Sir, yes, in this company, we also have a PF code, and nearly 300 employees are working here. Please suggest on this matter.

Mr. Mahesh is not correct. For statutory coverage of PF, there are two conditions:

1. There should be a minimum of 20 employees.
2. The salary of any of the employees should be equal to or below Rs. 6500.

If the salary from the second job is above Rs. 6500, PF deduction is not statutory. However, even though it is not obligatory, if both the employee and employer wish, there is no restriction to join PF.
