How Can I Politely Address Employees About Keeping the Cafeteria Walls Clean?

premacitehr
Dear All, I require some help in drafting a warning email! The reason is that in the cafeteria, people are standing with one leg on the ground and the other leg against the wall. As a result, the wall has become really dirty. How should I write an email to all the employees to convey this issue?

Thank you.

Hi Prema, you can write a general circular giving an example of visitors visiting our cafeteria and it looking very shabby or unprofessional. Just send an email saying that you understand the cafeteria is a place to relax, but make sure you are not keeping it untidy or unclean. Please ensure that you don't keep your footwear on the walls so that they do not become unclean. Maintain proper hygiene when you are having your food.

I humbly request all my colleagues to observe personal care and cleanliness.

Regards,
GS

Hi, the best way would be to send out a formal email and have posters (with pictures) stating the do's and don'ts.

Dear GS, Thank you for the reply. I have drafted an email for the same; please let me know if this is acceptable.

"It has been noted that the wall near the vending machine area looks very shabby with footwear marks on it. Please do not stamp or lean on the wall. I kindly request everyone to keep the area neat and tidy."

Thank you.
