Just one point of caution - don't mention any reason pertaining to poor organizational culture or your boss. You can simply state that it is due to some personal reasons, considering the industries are small. I hope you understand what I mean.

Reason for Resignation: Personal Reasons

Sir,

With this letter, I wish to inform you that I am resigning from my position with XXX as a Software Engineer as of 27 Jan 2011. I regret any inconvenience that this will cause and will do my best to have my current work assigned finished before my last day. While I believe that I am moving for good reasons, I am sorry to leave, and I thank you for your support during my time with XXX, which I have found enjoyable and fulfilling during my stay here.

Regards,

XYZ

Dear Sir,

The purpose of this mail is to formally inform you that I have accepted a new position with another company.

My decision to leave XYZ has been thoroughly thought out and was a difficult one.

Please accept this email as a resignation letter and relieve me at the earliest.

If I can be of any assistance during this transition, please let me know. I would be happy to help however I can.

I am thankful for all that you have done for me. It was wonderful working with you and the kind of freedom extended to me. Hope we cross paths again.

Thanks & Regards,
XXX
