Hi all, I am pursuing my 2nd year MBA at NIT. Currently, we have a few companies visiting our campus for placements. The list includes PSUs and leading corporate companies. Could you please suggest the right place to learn more for prospective future growth for a beginner like me?

Also, please let me know if I get into a PSU that is offering a higher package, would that experience be of any special value to get into any MNC after 2-3 years?

Hi Sindhu, from my perspective, it's about where you want to end up—PSU or corporates? It's not just a question of salary for beginners. Since you mentioned college placements, consider exploring opportunities in both PSU and corporates. There are two aspects to consider:

1. In corporates, there is potential for good growth in your career, but the job may sometimes feel insecure or unsatisfactory.

2. In PSU, there are good benefits, especially medical benefits, but career growth may be more lateral. However, job security is usually higher.

Ultimately, your state of mind will play a significant role in making the best decision. By the way, you didn't mention the MBA stream you are specializing in.
