Understanding Legislative Compliance

Legislature is normally a body constituted under the Constitution of India through which bills are passed to become law. Legislative compliance usually refers to the steps that need to be taken and complied with while submitting legislation in the form of bills to parliament or state legislatures. After its passage in the said parliament or legislature, it becomes law. Commission or omission in terms of such laws is typically termed as legal compliance.

Understanding 'Legal' and 'Legislative'

'Legal' means as per the law; conforming to the standards/norms of the law; approved by law; or permitted by law.

'Legislative' means related to the legislature - the capacity/power to make laws; such as 'Legislative Power' - i.e., the power to make laws.

Hope this makes the point clear.
