Is Employee Verification by Police a Common Practice in Delhi Around 26th Jan? Let's Discuss!

sharmaneesu
Hi all, nowadays in Delhi, cops are inspecting organizations and asking for employees' names and local addresses to verify them. According to them, they are doing this for 26 Jan. How true is it? Are you guys facing the same? Or is it a regular practice in Delhi every year? Please come up with your views on the same.

Thanks!

If they are doing it seriously and in a proper manner, it will help the organizations. Personnel are often judged solely by their certificates (some of which can be bought from the grey market), and not many companies conduct thorough verification processes. In Bangalore, one company had a few North East terrorists on their rolls.

But if it's an exercise in futility, then it's a waste of time.

I believe the police have the right to do so, and therefore, we should cooperate with them. In Pune, one employee joined and absconded with company data, computers, and other assets within 15 days. In another case, a female employee joined, took the money, and absconded. Both cases are under scrutiny by the police.

Importance of Employee Verification

Employee verification and reference checks are essential nowadays. If you have these records, you should be able to provide them when needed.

Thanks, Vinod & Col J H Mayne, but my question was not about reference checks and verification. Due to January 26th, a lot of precautions are being taken by the Delhi police. They are visiting organizations in Delhi and asking for their employees' details. I want to know if this is a regular practice by the police on January 26th or if they are doing it only this time. If any of you are from Delhi and have experienced the same, please let me know.
