Why Are Job Offers Being Declined? Seeking Advice on Reducing Declines and Reporting Findings

Hi, I am doing a project on offer decline analysis. It's different from attrition. It is an analysis regarding people declining offers after an offer has been issued to them. They do not join the company only. I require some advice on how to proceed with this. I have currently identified the reasons as to why people decline offers. I would appreciate some advice on how this can be reduced and how to create a project report on this topic.

Identify the offer letters issued to different categories of employees/department-wise. Out of that, get the number of employees who joined and those who did not join. Now that you have clarity on the percentage of employees not joined, get this list month-wise. You will then have the trend for position/category.

Next, review the company's terms with the terms in the market. This may provide insight into why people are not joining. Also, consider the reasons why people are leaving the company, which you can gather from employee exit forms.

Offer letter declines can be reduced if you can understand the expectations of the employees and determine if we are meeting them by providing offers in our company.

I have seen many candidates decline offers after receiving the offer letter. This may be because they survey the market to gauge their standing. Once they receive an offer letter with a specified salary, they may explore other opportunities in search of a higher salary than what was initially offered. In the competitive job market, where attrition rates are high, companies are actively poaching employees, sometimes disregarding the stability concerns of the candidates.

Trend means the monthly trend percentage within the company over the previous 12 months, not the market trend.
