Budgeting And Financial Performance Of An IT Dept...

I am charged with establishing financial budgeting and monitoring of the performance of the same for a team of developers. I am not experience in this area. Would any of you kindly point to me any example documents or models I might learn from?

Thanks Dinesh! I may look to participate in some formal training at some point. For now, I'm looking for some general guidance and perhaps an existing model / artifact which I can review and learn from. Said differently, I don't believe we have the budget at present to take this to the next level and participate in formalized training just yet :)
