Very good idea. My father, a chartered accountant, taught my brother (an engineer) and me how to prepare the balance sheet when we reached high school. Our nuts and bolts finance knowledge is much better than some others who are formally qualified.

Management of money and people is essential everywhere, so along with finance, some HR literacy would do no harm. Even sales can be taught in a way that ultimately, everyone has to sell, whether it's themselves or a product.

Make them see the difference between needs and wants. Children normally do not understand the value of money and how difficult it is to earn money. This makes them spend it unnecessarily without giving it another thought. They often succumb to peer pressure. Make them understand the difference between necessities and luxury.
