What do you mean by re-designation? Is it a promotion, a demotion, or an appreciation? A change in designation does not happen without reason.

Hi,

You are right that a change in designation is the result of good or bad performance. However, there is a slight difference between Promotion and Re-Designation. Re-Designation is a change in designation with the same responsibilities but at a different level. For example, if someone holds the position of AM-Marketing and is re-designated as Manager - Marketing, their responsibilities remain the same but at a higher level. The crux of it is that there is a change in designation without any alteration in the role and responsibilities.

Come on, you are saying "having the same responsibilities but at a different level." When there is a change in level or title, think of mentioning it as a "promotion" to bring some happiness to the employee. Anyhow, I am giving you the format:

Dear Mr. [Last Name],

We are pleased to re-designate you in the grade of [Grade] with effect from [Effective Date].

However, there will be no change in the terms of your appointment or roles and responsibilities. We expect your continued contribution in achieving excellence.

I have challenged the so-called "re-categorisation" of my post from "Hindi Translator" to that of "Assistant (Translator)".
