Our company has 3 types of leave: CL-10, EL-10, and PL-10. If any employee applies for 7 days of continuous leave, how should I deduct it?

Hi, can anyone suggest to me what the CL, EL, and MEDICAL RULE are according to the Company Act of 1956? I would also like to know how EL is calculated, and whether it is provided in cash or adjusted.

Hi Anjali,

The leave policy needs to be prepared based on the provisions of the Shop & Establishment Act. According to the Karnataka Shop & Establishment Act, an employee is eligible for PL (1 leave for every 20 working days) and CL/SL (1 leave per month). PL can be carried forward for up to 30 days, while CL/SL will lapse every year in December.

It is important to maintain Form F & H for leave records.
