How to Plan a Memorable Employee Welfare Day with a Rs 60,000 Budget for 170 Staff?

Dear All, Our company has offered a budget of around Rs 60,000 for Employee Welfare activities/Celebrations. The strength of our employees is 170, and it is a one-day program. Can anybody suggest good ideas or recommendations so that I can implement them in my office? I would really appreciate it if you could share your ideas!

You could organize a get-together for employees and their family members. They can be given a tour of your workplace. A gift or token could be given to all employees. Each employee can be given a sapling, or a tree named after achievers can be planted at a suitable site in your factory or office. An outdoor program, activity, or picnic can be organized.

With a budget of around Rs. 350 per head, you have the following broad choices:

- Arrange a day-long outing/picnic (this may marginally exceed the budget if you include transport costs).
- An annual day program just in the evening with loads of activities followed by dinner.
- Combine a CSR initiative with the outing to make it more meaningful and possibly very different for many.

In my view, you should try one of the three options this year, and the other options can be tried next year. It would help to add to the fun if you can include a theme dressing, get a professional event manager to organize/conduct the event. However, if you plan to use it as an opportunity to discover the organizational and personal skills of the employees, then ensure that proper teams are formed for the event with you coordinating the whole thing.

Based on your choice, you can work out the detailed plan for the day/evening.
