Employee Retention Strategies In Indian It Sector

Kindly enlighten us on this unexplored part of issue. Organizations despite adapting 'n' numbers of steps to retain their employees. What is the success rate of the policies and procedures followed in such organizations? What is the current scenario of retention strategies in our Indian IT sector?

Indeed Retention is a thought provoking topic till date for many IT and BPO companies.
There are three basic things for retention i.e.
Respect
Recognition
Reward
How do we use them are left for the understanding of the organisation using them.
Although I believe that the first step to improving your employee retention is to understand why employees stay with their current employer. Many "experts" dwell on the reasons employees leave, which is not as important or revealing as the reasons they stay.
Make them Fall In Love with the company - thats the best strategy if you want the talented lot to stay within.
Another important fact is BAD RECRUITMENT - Hurrying up this process often results in Bad or wrong recruitment, and then it becomes even more obvious that these wrong guys will eventually leave the company.
Lets see what other HR people have to contribute.....

Retention startegies should be Industry Specific. Knowledge based Industries like IT sector should provide opportunites for employee knowledge sharing and growth.
Some time back a senior HR colleuge remarked...Salary comes only once in a month..what matters most is the remaining 29 days and the desire to come each day every day..looking forward to come to work.....
So money as a Retention tool is not working...people need more then just money.....loyalty and Life time job security will not hold you long...but the ability to enjoy the work you do and getting opportunites to learn, display and expand is what will make me come back every day....
