Is Missing DA in Salary Structure a Problem for Employees? Let's Discuss the Impact

I would like to know whether all the salary structures should necessarily have DA or not.

I happened to see the salary chart of a friend that has basic salary, PF, gratuity, and all that but not DA.

I would also like to know what possibly is the loss to the employee if his salary structure does not have DA.

Hi,

DA is not a necessary component in a salary structure. Nowadays, most companies do not offer DA as part of their salary structures. You will find that all new industries do not have the DA component except in the public sector.

Hi,

It's not a mandatory salary component. You do come across it mainly in PSUs and state and central government.
