Hi,

I have attached the previous discussion thread on SAP HR for your reference. Go through it, and I am not sure about the training centers in Bangalore. Regarding Chennai, there are lots of institutes that offer even for 15k...

Thank you very much, Raghav, for providing information on SAP HR. I have one more question: I have 2 years of Recruitment experience in Consultancy, with 1 year in domestic and 1 year in US IT Recruitment. Would this domain experience be considered for pursuing a SAP HR course? I am planning to start the SAP HR course in 5 months. Is there any chance I could access free SAP HR course material for studying the theory beforehand?

Thank you,
Saikrupa

Hi Saikrupa,

One year in domestic and one year in US IT Recruitment is enough for pursuing SAP HR. "Free SAP HR course material" - :( I don't have it with me and nothing comes free in this world. :D You can do it provided the company that you work for gives you an opportunity to implement SAP; otherwise, you won't be able to gain the experience.

All the best.

Hi,

I read in ET recently that Indian Railways is going to automate their HRMS (ERP), and TCS, Wipro, IBM, and Oracle are trying hard to get the contract. Once this is finalized, there may be more opportunities in these companies for people with HR experience and IT knowledge in ERP.

Murali.

Hi Murali,

That would be great... a massive project which Indian Railways will take up. Okay then, great opportunities for SAP professionals. But again, they would prefer experienced individuals. Still yet to do SAP HR, long way to go!!

Thanks Murali for your information.

Thanks,
Saikrupa

Hi,

Try to involve yourself in IT-related activities under the HR function connected to ERP. This may be useful to some extent.

Hi Murali, Do you know exactly which ERP they are using, whether Oracle or SAP? Please do let me know if you have the information.

Hi Raghav,

This is Shyam. I am done with my MBA in HR and now working with a leading consulting company as an HR recruiter. Can anyone suggest to me how to shape my career from here? Is it worth doing SAP HR or Six Sigma in HR? Which institute can it be done in Chennai, please?

Thank you.

Hi,

This is Shyam. I have completed my MBA in HR and am currently working with a leading consulting company as an HR recruiter. Can anyone suggest how I can shape my career from here? Is it worth pursuing SAP HR or Six Sigma in HR? Also, which institute in Chennai offers courses in these areas? Thank you for your help.

Well Sai, you can definitely go for SAP HR, though have only Recruitment exposure. But you need to refine your skills in General HR too, so as to understand the basic concept behind each module in SAP HR. Since you are in Bangalore, there are lot of Local Institutes to do, normally they charge around 20K, but if you go for Siemens or Genovate, then it will cost you 3.75lakhs, but you will get certification. Otherwise you need to work and practice hard, do lot of R&D, etc to make you expert in SAP. As far as salary is concerned, it is good, but the market is pretty tough these days. So since you want to do after 6 months, take your time, make yourself comfortable with General HR and go for it.

Hi there,

I have read all the previous comments on this thread, and I am undergoing the same scenario, but it's 2016 and I have 2 years of experience working as an HR generalist with 1 year of experience in SAP ABAP. So, I am very much interested in doing a SAP HR course now. I am currently living in Australia and am really asking for experts' guidance here.

Awaiting your replies!! Thank you.
