Statutory requirements applicable to any boilers in India will be:
1. Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR) - 1950
2. Indian Boilers Act 1923
Refer to these for details.

Displays

- General Safety Posters Display: Any specific process hazards involved and their precautions. This information will be available only after a detailed risk assessment of your briquette-fired boiler. Take the help of your safety professionals and process people.
- Display of sound level is also required.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

- All PPE as per job requirements.

Competency of Boiler Operator & Helpers

- Refer to the attachment; it may be helpful to you.

Training

- Site-wise training needs to be identified and accordingly imparted.

Housekeeping

- It's not something different from other plants.

Dust/Heat Stress, etc.

Dear Abhay, kindly regret the delayed reply. I'm sharing my experience on the same.

1. **Displays** - Hot surface displays, safety signages
2. **PPE** - Leather gloves while working on hot surfaces, earplugs for noise, goggles, safety shoes, and hard hats
3. **Competency of Boiler Operator & Helpers** - All boiler operators should have a BOE certificate, and helpers should be from ITI (this varies from company to company)
4. **Training** - Operational training on the spot, and before giving individual charge of the area, they should work alongside a senior operator until gaining confidence in the job.
5. **Housekeeping** - As usual in all operational areas
6. **Dust/Heat Stress, etc.** - To overcome dust, the use of a dust mask is recommended. For heat stress, individuals should consume liquid drinks like buttermilk and lemon juice to withstand it.
