Fixed-Term Employment and the 240-Day Rule: Can Workers Claim Permanency After 11 Months?

suresh_m
1. We would like to employ workers under fixed-term employment (say for 11 months).
2. Is the continuous service of 240 days applicable in this case?
3. Can the workers claim permanency at the end of the 11 months?
4. If we give breaks 2 times and employ them for more than 240 days, what will be the result?
Under which section and Act do we talk about permanency? The ID Act only mentions compensation to be paid if worked for more than 240 days at the time of retrenchment and not about permanency. Where did the term permanency come from?

I request all learned senior members to give your valuable advice/comments on the same.

Thank you for your prompt and valuable messages/information. Now, how can we employ contract workers under the direct payroll of the company without giving any room for the workers to claim permanency? Perhaps by implementing a break system?
