Rehiring an Employee: Do We Need a New PF Account After Withdrawal?

Piyu87
Hi all, I would like to inquire about one of our employees who worked with our organization for almost two years but left in the month of September. He completed all the formalities and withdrew his PF. His PF settlement is still in progress.

Rehiring Consideration

Our company is considering rehiring him. Do we need to open a new PF account for him?
MADAN MOHAN VERMA
Yes, you have to create a new PF account because he has already submitted his PF withdrawal form to the PF office, and it is also under process.

I would also like to know how an employee who has worked in a company for 2 years can collect their PF amount after leaving the organization.

If the PF settlement is still in process and not finalized, and the PF accumulation is with the PF Department, the RPFC concerned can be requested in writing by moving an application by the member for withdrawal of application (Form-13) for withdrawal of PF accumulations by the member. In that case, his previous code number will continue, and a new code number is not required.

Dear All, I fully endorse the views expressed by Shri Rldhingra Ji. If the application is still under process, it can be withdrawn by the member with your concurrence in writing. That will benefit the member in the long run as his past services will continue for pension computation when he finally retires. If he closes his present PF account and then applies for a new account, he loses lien on his two-year services rendered earlier.
