There are many types of labor, such as unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, or highly skilled. Can we hire skilled or highly skilled employees through a contractor? If so, what should be the profile of the labor contractor, for example, it could be ABC Pvt Ltd or ABC Enterprises? Please provide detailed information promptly as it is urgent.

Engagement of workers through contractors is not restricted only to unskilled workers, although in practice, it is often seen that only unskilled workers are hired through contractors. Employers cannot engage laborers who operate machinery directly. They can only assist the machine operator.

Certainly, if the work is perennial in nature and directly related to the core activity, the engagement of contract labor is not allowed. Similarly, if there is work for which a regular and full-time employee can be engaged, contract labor is not permitted.
