Can anyone tell me what are all considered as statutory and non-statutory welfare measures that must or can be implemented in the manufacturing industry?

Thanks,

The Factories Act, Mine Act, Plantations Labour Act, or (State) Shops and Commercial Establishments Act have provisions relating to many welfare measures to be implemented in the establishments. These include setting up clean restrooms, creches, canteens, washrooms, ambulance rooms, etc., subject to certain conditions regarding the number of employees employed and the nature of work performed. These are statutory welfare schemes that are mandatory; without them, the establishment has no right to exist.

At the same time, there are many other schemes not mentioned in these Acts, such as playgrounds, medical centers, cinema halls, cooperative stores, schools for employees' children, etc. These should be treated as non-statutory welfare schemes of the establishment.
