Dear Professionals,
ESIC has initiated online transactions with employers, and it will soon be implemented in all ESI coverage areas. All employers need to apply to their concerned regional office for an online user ID. Once you receive the user ID with a password, you can log in to the portal application at www.esic.in.
Advantages of ESIC Portal Application:
1. Employers can log in 24x365 days from anywhere in India.
2. Employee declarations can be entered online. If you fill in all fields, Temporary Insured Cards (TICs) will be generated. These TICs are valid for 3 months. Initially, the TICs will show as 'unregistered' on your screen. Local office authorities will verify the details of the insured person and authorize the TICs, which will then be in 'registered mode'. The employee needs to submit the TICs, along with the employer's signature and the employee family photograph, to the ESIC local office. The employee must also attend an ESIC photosession for an ESIC biometric card.
3. Monthly challans will only be generated online. These challans can be paid online (debit/credit card), by cheque, or in cash. This feature is available only for 'registered mode' employees.
4. There is no requirement to submit half-yearly returns.
5. For establishments with branches in different ESIC coverage areas, the employer needs to submit sub-code allotment for their branch accountability and apply for user IDs for the branches as well.
I believe the above details will be helpful to you. Attached are the ESIC online instructions.
Thank you.
