Hi there! I've faced this kinda situation. The best & optimistic move in this scenario is to have a discussion with ur boss, assuming its not intentional. People are hired for regular work & managers to decide, handle & tackle pressures. Tackling crisis is an opportunity to prove ur skills. Its a crisis scenario & exhibit ur effectiveness.
List out your regular roles & responsibilities.
The frequency of reporting(ie, daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, etc)
The time frame each would consume to have them ready
Rank them based on their priorities.
Likewise list out ur current addnl workload.
Have the ball in the Boss' court, get his priorities & views, plan ur schedule accordingly, on mutual consent & arrive at a win win situation. That's it. BALANCE. Put ur creativity & edge till a replacement is hired.
