shalinisbhatnagar
Dear All,

Kindly let me know the maximum limit of the voluntary provident fund one can make from the employee's side. As we all know, the mandatory contribution is 12% of the basic salary. How much more can one contribute?

Please help me out...

Dear Shalini,

Up to 90% of basic + DA salary (on which PF contributions are made) can be done as per the PF Act.

Hi, labour laws are written in sections, not in articles. VPF is completely voluntary.

Dear,

Please correct me if I am wrong, but in my opinion, the maximum you can contribute in VPF is 8% of (Basic + DA) i.e. {12% mandatory + 8% VPF = 20%}.

Thank you.

Hi,

The maximum limit for Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF) is 12%. Individuals who contribute more than this limit may encounter difficulties during withdrawal.

Hi, if an employee would like to contribute to the Voluntary Provident Fund, he can do so up to a maximum of 12% on his basic salary + DA. However, there is no obligation on the part of the employer to contribute to the VPF opted by the employee. The employee has to give his consent for VPF, and the same has to be forwarded to EPFO for processing.

There is no limit for VPF; an employee can contribute 100% from BASIC and DA. I checked with the EPFO Bommansandra Branch Enforcement officer.
