CTC means by paying 'X' amount to an employee how much the company is incurring expenses. Please correct me if I am wrong. Leave Salary/encashment is a kind of reward given to an employee for his devotion towards his employment. Besides, Leave encashment is one of the basic terms and conditions of employment and is also statutory. Some authors suggest that leave encashment is one of the welfare measures/benefits. Therefore, it is not justifiable to consider leave encashment as one of the components of CTC.
For your information, in Bangalore, some BPOs and IT industries quote CTC as Rs. 22,000/-, and the take-home salary is only Rs. 9500/-. The balance amount is deducted in the form of company expenses. Therefore, in my understanding, the components of CTC should include Basic, (DA), HRA, Conveyance, etc., Transportation, Free lunch, Bonus, all allowances, Insurance.
