Struggling with Attrition Calculations? Let's Discuss Alternatives and Corrections

Siva Guru
Hi, I am not able to get any attrition calculation in emails, as far as I know. Attrition for a month equals the number of people who left the company in the given month divided by the sum of the headcount at the start of the month and the number of employees added in that period. This calculation can be applicable center-wise, year-wise, etc. If there is an alternative that anyone can send to me, or if you feel there is anything wrong with the given formula, please share it with me.

Hi Veerendra,

You can calculate the attrition rate using the formula below:

Attrition = (Total number of resignations per month / Total number of employees in the company + Number of new joiners - Total number of resignations) * 100.
