Do We Have To Give The Salary Structure With The Job Offer Letter?

Hi,
There is no any legal requirement to declare CTC on Offer letter, it is a mutual concent between both, but if any one want on LOI, it is the employer, ehether they are ready or not. But the best way is to discuss the salary on plain paper. Recently it has been found that candidates are bargaining the salary in market, by way of producing the LOI, if CTC mentioned. In detail appointment letter, it is necessary to put the salary breakup.

Let me give you some details info. about salary break up before joining any organisation. As you might not be familier with salary structure of your future organisation. Make it clear that you must ask salary breakup for your future employer. This will give the hint of take home salary as well as salary breakup parameter.

Hi Neha,
An offer letter indicating the designation, Place of posting, reporting structure and probable date of joining should be enough. There is no hard and fast rule to mention the salary structure in the offer letter. A few companies include the salary break up as an annexure to the offer letter.
In our company, we prepare an offer letter along with the salary structure and the candidate will be asked to sign on it. This signed copy of the salary structure will be subsequently handed over on the date of joining.

As per the rules of good practice both "legal and HR" its advisable to put the salary structure.It goes to the roots of the contract in case of fault by one party.

Pahuja check the design given by Ravi,thats nice one,the only difference is that others usually include all information needed just in that appointment letter and no more letters to be sent than waiting for one to report,i think its because of reducing some repeatative administrative duties.

Dear All,
I read all the posts.First of all i would like to say that there is no legal binding that salary break up to be mentioned in offer letter.secondly , the main intention of the employer after finalizaing him is to communicate salary details to the presepective employee by verbly or by writing.Most companies attach salary break ups in offer letter to be more transperent and avoid any type of confusion on the prespective employee's mind.

We should issue LOI with CTC. After submission of JR we can issue appointment letter with salary breakup and Annexure.

Now if anybody thinks he will show the CTC to his present employer and will not join u, it is better he / she does not join. I always mention CTC and position in all the Offer Letters gvn by me to avoid confusions at the time of joining. Still confusions take place.
As HR professionals,let us approach issues with a positive mind and not with a closed negative mind.
I wud say to give an Offer ltr without salary or position or even taking signature of the copy of appointment letter and keeping it with u to be gvn on a later date, is not exactly my idea of Positive approach.
