Hi, I am from a charitable trust looking after the HR department. We have more than 50 employees. Right now, we have not obtained PF numbers. I have heard that charitable trusts can be exempted from the PF Act. Please guide.
Employees' Provident Fund and the Miscellaneous Provisions Act of 1952
This is social security legislation, and employee rights, just like salaries, are protected under this act. All exemptions provided in this act are based on equal or better benefits. Therefore, as a charitable trust, you cannot deny the rights of the employees.
