Dear Mr. Jain,
Great PPT & a good representation of corporate settings.
The PPT in my opinion reiterates two view points
1. Corporates take decision on hunch feelings- The "Sher" without any solid evidence decided that "Chiti" is in need of supervisor. To me, not true to real life corporate settings. Successful companies are successful for the simple reason that there is solid logic and enough empirical evidence to undertake a crucial activity such as manpower expansion. "Sher" failed in seeing through the fall outs of having a supervisor because he did not have a need analysis before having one.
2. Managers don't work: The PPT definitely echoes this view. However, again i would not fully agree although in some cases it may be true. The manager is supposed to give an overall guidance to increase the productivity. True, it is ultimately the bottom-line workers who produce but simple production is not enough these days. We are all surviving in extremely competitive world and it is equally important to pay attention to factors other than production to make a product competitively viable.
My opinion to your thread " It is not the individual but the team which is productive. You need to figure out right persons with right skill sets to compose a really successful team "
