Struggling to Withdraw PF Amount After a Year – Any Advice on What to Do Next?

poojajaiswal63
Dear All,

One of my friends, who left a reputed company, applied for the withdrawal of his PF amount, which is Rs. 12,000. He filled out all the required forms for its withdrawal, such as Form 19 and 10C, one year ago, but still, he has not been able to get his PF amount. He asked the HR person about it, who told him that he has forwarded his application and forms for withdrawal but doesn't know why the amount has not been sanctioned. When my friend checked his application status, he found out that his application has not been received yet. He asked me for suggestions, but I am not very sure how to tackle his problem. Can anybody help?

Thanks & Regards,
Pooja

Ms. Pooja, please tell your friend to fill out a fresh Form 19 and 10C and attach a copy of the bank passbook attested by the previous employer. Also, ask for the acknowledgment from EPFO for the receipt of the Withdrawal Forms (after submitting the withdrawal forms). Your friend will then receive the EPF amount for sure. If you have more doubts, then email me.

Thank you.

Thanks a lot, Vignesh. I believe the information provided by you is definitely going to help my friend. However, I have one question: Can he submit these forms along with the copy of the attested bank passbook directly to the EPFO, or does he have to submit them to the HR of the previous company? As I mentioned, the HR of that company is not giving a favorable response. Also, from whom can he ask for an acknowledgment receipt? Can you guide me regarding this?

Regards,
Pooja

Yes, your friend can get Forms 19 & 10C, and 3A duly signed by the employer (previous employer), including the attestation in the copy of the Bank Passbook, and directly submit it at the EPFO (PF Office) to get the acknowledgment from the PRO or any concerned officer at the EPFO.

Thank you.
