Many municipalities are missing in West Bengal, the most famous one being Bidhan Nagar Municipality, popularly called Salt Lake City.

The list belongs to municipal corporations. Bidhan Nagar is administered by the municipality. There are six cities in West Bengal covered under municipal corporations and 113 cities/towns controlled by municipalities.
