Notice Pay Explained
"Notice pay" is typically payable during an employee's separation, either voluntarily or when separated by the company. This clause is included in the appointment order, and the "notice period" is specified. When an employee wishes to leave the company, they must provide notice in advance. Otherwise, they must pay the notice period pay to the company, or it is adjusted against their final settlement.
When the company wants to separate an employee for various reasons (such as poor performance), they also need to provide the employee with the notice period mentioned in the appointment order. If the company wishes for a quicker separation, they must pay the notice period pay to the employee. The duration depends on the company—15 days, 1 month, 3 months, etc.
