Is Provident Fund Mandatory for Small Electronics Service Businesses with 20 Employees?

Dear members,

Is PF compulsory for a proprietary concern dealing with the servicing of audio and video electronic products like TV, Camera, VCD players, etc.? The act is not very clear in defining this. I need to know if PF is applicable for these types of companies which are proprietary in nature and the number of employees now reaching 20. I need to know the section/clause of the act under which it is applicable.

The act is very clear in this regard, and if you have 20 or more employees, then you are required to follow the provisions of this act. Please refer to the applicability clause of this act.

Dear Kannan, your company has to get registered under the PF Act since it is reaching 20 employees.
