I have faced a few interviews for HR, and some HR professionals asked me about the meaning of recruitment or what Human Resources is. Can someone please provide me with the exact meaning of recruitment?

First of all, you don't know what HR is? :D I guess you may be familiar with the meanings of "Human" and "Resources" individually. To fulfill and serve all the available resources in the organization, which is done by human beings, this is called human resources.

Recruitment is the process of finding suitable candidates for the required positions in an organization. After the manpower planning, the talent resources required for the organization are charted out. Based on this, the recruiter of the organization identifies suitable candidates who can fit into the job role. Following the recruitment process, the selection process begins with a preliminary round of interviews, followed by the entire interview process. Subsequently, post-selection activities such as releasing the offer, induction, training, etc., are carried out.

A set of activities performed by an organization to attract job candidates possessing appropriate characteristics, which can be used by the organization to achieve its objectives, is called recruitment. Recruitment is somewhat positive as it attracts a pool of candidates, whereas selection is somewhat negative since, in due course of time, candidates would be eliminated automatically.

Hi dear,

We, two people, got shortlisted out of 15 candidates. Still, one last interview is remaining. Any one of us will get the job, so I am in tension. But I was surprised that they haven't checked my knowledge of any HR activities but checked my personality. The last round will be telephonic, so I am tensed about how I can show my personality on the call.

Guys, I don't want to miss this opportunity.

Due to the weekend, I didn't receive any call from Kanbay. Maybe today I will get a last call. You know, friends, I really got moral support from all of you. But still, I am in tension because this is the last chance to prove myself with this company, and that is on the call.

I don't know when they are going to call me. Do you think this delay may result in my name being removed from the list? Could there be any references working there who might remove my name from the list? Do you think people from Kanbay could do that? Does anyone know Tulsi at Kanbay (Hyderabad)? She is supposed to conduct my final telephonic interview (not sure if she will consider me).

I am feeling tense. Please help me :(
