Boss Day Tomorrow: How Do You Plan to Appreciate Your Mentor or Boss?

Hello all,

Tomorrow is Boss Day! A day to convey our true feelings to our bosses. Though it is a US practice and not so popular in our nation, I believe we can still have a good discussion regarding 'how to' and 'why' for the same.

I am going to gift my boss, a true mentor for me, a box of chocolates and a handwritten greetings message!

I think the point to be noted is not that it is U.S. practice, but what's important is to absorb and adopt best practices, whether they are American or British.

So, I also believe that it's a great idea to wish our boss on their day and bring them some unique gifts, preferably items they could use on the professional front.

Hi, I hope there is also an Employee Day . But anyhow, we have to celebrate this day. Through this, we can resolve the issues with our boss and start again. It's like refreshing the relationship with our boss.

Just a witty thought... Indians normally have the perception that bosses are bad, so maybe that's why the day is not much recognized.

I am against all these days. The culture of India is being distorted by these Western-style "days." Valentine's Day has ruined the youth. In India, there is a mantra to gain respect: pay respect to elders, whether they are a boss or a senior. In the West, the boss might only be respected on a single day of the year. However, here, he is respected every day.

So, I don't feel that this culture should enter into the Indian corporate arena.
