How to Issue Appointment Letters for Senior IT Employees on Project-Based Contracts?

prajakta bhat
Dear seniors, I am an HR executive at an IT company. We have not issued any appointment letters to senior employees so far, as it was a verbal agreement between the employees and the employer. Now, we are planning to issue appointment letters for them. As we are an IT company, our work depends on projects from other companies, so there are no permanent projects in our company.

Issuing Appointment Letters

In this case, how can we issue the appointment letters to employees? Can we give appointment letters for a specific period? Will it be a sort of contract employment, and if yes, what conditions should be considered while issuing appointment letters?

Kindly guide me.
Mahr
Dear Prajakta,
Appointment letters are issued to employees upon their time of joining, which includes a probation period and certain points that must be followed to abide by the rules of the organization. You mentioned, "As we are an IT company, work depends on projects from other companies. So there are no permanent projects in our company."

This sentence is a bit vague. If this is the exact situation, then you should consider hiring employees on a contract basis rather than for permanent roles.

Thank you.

There is no concept called a Contract Appointment Letter. It is only a contract that will be signed as an agreement between the employee and the employer.
