Seeking Advice on Designing an Effective Rewards & Recognition Program: Any Tips?

Can anyone please advise me on some good tips for Rewards & Recognition and also in designing the Rewards & Recognition Program?

About Reward and Recognition program, you can conduct an all employee meet (Say once in a month or once in a quarter). Then on the basis of performance and contribution, relevant employees can be awarded (Certificate & a small gift). The certificates can go as “ Performer of the Month”,“ Performer of the Quarter” ,etc.
This will motivate the employees as their contribution is recognized and appreciated in front of everybody.
