Do you manage a job that includes a high degree of creativity? Do you experience days where you feel extremely confident and driven, only to then hit a creative block? Here are a few habits that, if cultivated, can crush creativity forever:

1. Creating and evaluating at the same time
2. The Expert Syndrome
3. Fear of failure
4. Fear of ambiguity
5. Lack of confidence
6. Discouragement from other people
7. Being overwhelmed by information
8. Being trapped by false limits

Greetings,

Appreciate your response. Which one of these blocks your productivity? For me, it is creating and evaluating at the same time. This is purely cognitive dissonance or our natural urge to multitask, even though we perfectly know that one task would follow the other! Looking forward to your views.

That was a really good one. For me, it's the combination of the 6th and 7th. Discouragement from others and feeling overwhelmed by the information. Your post was very helpful :)

Teji :)

Greetings,

Thanks to everyone for the comments.

@Teji, you are so correct. Those two reasons can catch us off guard. Remaining objective to their comments is the only way out.

@Shreedevi, I echo your thoughts!

Very useful. Could someone please explain what creativity and innovation are and what the difference is between the two - with some case references.
