National Holiday Pay Confusion: Do You Get Paid If You're Absent Before or After?

marut3
Please help me with the following confusion: If someone is present either before or after the national holiday but is absent before or after the national holiday, are they entitled to payment for the national festival holiday?

Thank you.

You should go through the Payment of Wages Act and state rules. In this Act, it is clearly mentioned that if a workman is absent before or after the Festival Holiday as declared by the organization.

You should review the Payment of Wages Act and state rules. In this Act, it is clearly mentioned that if a workman is absent before or after the festival holiday as declared by the organization, they may or may not be eligible for the paid day.

Dear Pramod, I am quoting your email in response to the query raised by Sh. Murut, which is as follows:

"You just need to go through the Payment of Wages Act and state rules. In this Act, it is clearly mentioned that if a workman is absent before or after the Festival Holiday as declared by the organization, they may or may not be eligible for the paid day."

Understanding the Payment of Wages Act

I would like to be educated on the relevant provisions under the Payment of Wages Act that stipulate the eligibility of payment of wages if a workman is absent before or after the Festival Holiday as declared by the organization. Please help me.
