THE WISE WOMAN'S STONE
A wise woman, who was traveling in the mountains, found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.
But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said. "I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone.

her life is not based on that stone...it means that her life is not limited to a precious stone... what she did , is not generosity or good deed ... it is something very different dimension of life that is going beyond physical need ...she is ready to face the future whatever it maybe...that is different kind of eternal real strength..
if u really want to understand see movie V FOR VENDETTA. U could really feel what it is...

Wisdom is the power within thee which I want to share

This woman had her wisdom which empowered her to see the real value of the materialistic possessions which may give one some shotlived joy but which cannot give you the eternal joy of the possessing an inner strength by which one can conquer any and every difficult situation of life.

Dear Subinarayan
It does matter, if a material is copied from other websites.
Kindly strive to know more about such issues.
I agree that "Not everybody get a chance to go through all these stories"; but there are certain legal, respected and established ways to share knowledge and information.
There is so much more information and knowledge on the web; do you think it would be right, if people would just COPY & PASTE materials here ??
To acquire knowledge (or information) is not a matter of chance; if so inclined, then one should pursue it diligently.

If you look at the panel on the right of this page, you will find that this has also appeared earlier in CiteHR.com :

daniel pacheco says nice story about the wise woman's stone.
Does anybody know where I can get such people who will give me precious stones in real life. I do not mind getting hard cash anything that is money except advice please. I have to admit that my materialistic tendencies will not allow me to return the precious stones or hard cash given to me so you can kiss your money goodbye after giving it to me.
