However, it is not practically possible in India because our Model Standing Order under the Industrial Employment & Standing Order Act of 1946 specifies Employee Naps, i.e., sleeping on duty, as a serious misconduct which can be punished up to termination after a Domestic Enquiry. To make it an effective tool for Employee Welfare, Motivation & Health, an amendment in the above Act is required. If done so, it can also be misused.
