I would have appreciated a more detailed question from your side.
Ideally the following should have been the procedure for tendering your resignation:-
1. Check your status of employment i.e are you a probationer / confirmed employee
2. Check the notice clause in your appointment letter, that may be applicable to your employment status with the organisation
3. The date of the resignation letter is considered for the calculation of the notice period
3.Tender your resignation letter (hardcopy) to your immediate reporting manager and get an acknowledgement from him on a copy of the same resignation letter.
Incase, the aforesaid process is completed, it is the duty of the organisation to come back to you and state the status of your resignation as to whether it has been accepted or rejected. Incase, you do not receive any response from their end till the expiry of your notice period, as per several Supreme Court judgements, it is deemed that your resignation has been accepted and hence there is no need for you to report for duty after the expiry of your notice period.
